I suppose an introduction is in order. Hi there. I'm Eddie Mac. Age 38. Wrestling fan. Game show fan. Video gamer. Cosplay lover.
I'd like to welcome you, dear reader, to Games and Grapples. The Games part will be in reference to both game shows and video games and the people that dress up like video game characters and the like.
The Grapples part will be devoted to professional wrestling. Now, I should level with all of you here and now: if you're looking for professional wrestling news, then this probably isn't the outfit you're looking for. If you're looking for a unique take on the history of professional wrestling--past, present, and future--then we're your huckleberry.
Now there's a good chance this is a solo effort, but it probably won't be, as I do have a few friends to throw in their opinions and such as needed. Chances are, if you're reading this, you know where I've been and what I did. You'll be happy to know I'll be continuing to do it here. That's right, my famous "This Day in Wrestling History" posts will now be featured on Games and Grapples.
If you're reading this, congratulations. You're among the first to see it. There's gonna be a big launch (or just... you know, a launch) soon. Probably the first of September, maybe the first of October. Until then, I'll use this site to keep my writing warm. Or... something.
But before I go, I'd like to tell you about my first big project on the site. I will be talking about in some form (probably video) every game show to air on the USA Network afternoon game show block from 1984 to 1995. I have scripts for the first two ready. But getting the video ready will be a pain in the ass.
It's an exciting journey I'm about to embark on, and I hope you all join me. Welcome to Games and Grapples.
