
Sandwiched between two all-time classics (four if you count 1997 and 2001), Summerslam 1999 wasn’t an awful show, but it wasn’t a great show. But it did come at a time when WWE could pretty much do no wrong in the fan’s eyes. Tag team turmoil was good for a while, the opener was good, tag title match was good, street fight was baller, and the main event was fine.
It’s not “go out of your way and see it right now” good, but it has enough moments to warrant at least a look. 7 out of 10.
